These terms apply when you use www.amicicoffee.co.uk (the "website") and when you buy from us as a consumer. Please read them before you order. They should be read together with our Delivery & Shipping Policy, our Returns & Refund Policy, our Coffee Subscription Policy and our Privacy Policy, which form part of these terms. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.

1. About us

• The website is operated by Express Coffee (Huntingdon) Ltd, trading as Amici Coffee ("we", "us").
• We are registered in England and Wales under company number 11055188.

2. Your order and our contract

• When you place an order, we send an email acknowledging it. That email doesn't mean we've accepted the order.
• The contract between us is formed when we email you to confirm dispatch, or charge your payment, whichever happens first. If an order is accepted in part, we'll tell you which items.
• We may decline an order, for example if an item is out of stock, if there's an obvious pricing error, or if we can't deliver to your address. If we do, we'll tell you and refund any payment in full.
• We sell to consumers aged 18 or over. Trade and wholesale orders are governed by our separate Trade & Wholesale Terms, available on request from sales@amicicoffee.co.uk.

3. Our products

• Coffee is a natural product. Flavour, aroma and appearance vary between harvests and roasts, and tasting notes describe what we expect rather than guarantee. Please check roast dates and best-before dates on the bag.
• Equipment and machines: we take care to describe and photograph products accurately, but colours and finishes can vary slightly on screen. Many items are supplied and dispatched by specialist suppliers or manufacturers on our behalf. We remain the seller and are responsible to you for them.
• Sage appliances: We are an authorised Sage retailer. Sage machines are dispatched direct from our UK distributor, and the manufacturer's warranty applies. Manufacturer guarantees are in addition to your legal rights against us.
• Allergens and food information: 

4. Prices and payment

• Prices are in pounds sterling (GBP) and include VAT where it applies. Delivery charges are shown on the product page or in the basket, and in full at checkout before you pay.
• If we discover an error in the price of an item you've ordered, we'll contact you before accepting the order. You can then go ahead at the correct price or cancel for a full refund. If the error is obvious and the correct price is higher, we're not obliged to supply at the incorrect price.
• We accept payment by debit or credit card, Shop Pay, Apple Pay and Google Pay, processed by Shopify Payments. Payments are processed securely by our payment providers, and we never see or store your full card details.

5. Discounts and promotions

• Discount codes and offers are subject to the conditions stated with them. Unless stated otherwise, codes have no cash value, can't be combined with other offers, and can be withdrawn at any time. Withdrawal doesn't affect orders already placed.
• Free gifts (for example, free coffee with a qualifying machine) are offered while stocks last. If you return the qualifying item, please see section 3 of our Returns & Refund Policy.
• Any "was" or reference price is a genuine price we previously charged for a reasonable period, or else it is clearly explained.

6. Delivery

Delivery is covered in our Delivery & Shipping Policy. Unless we agree a different date with you, we'll deliver without undue delay and within 30 days of the contract being formed. Items from different suppliers may arrive separately. Responsibility for the goods passes to you on delivery.

7. Cancellation, returns and faulty goods

You have 14 days to change your mind. The exceptions include opened coffee and personalised items. You also have full legal rights if goods are faulty, damaged or not as described. See our Returns & Refund Policy for details and a model cancellation form.

8. Subscriptions

Coffee subscriptions renew automatically until you skip, pause or cancel. You can do any of these at any time from your account, without a fee. See our Coffee Subscription Policy.

9. Our responsibility to you

• If we fail to comply with these terms, we're responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach or our negligence. We're not responsible for loss or damage that isn't foreseeable.
• We supply products for domestic and private use. If you use them for commercial or business purposes, we have no liability to you for loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption or loss of business opportunity.
• We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for breach of your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 (goods must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality), and for defective products under the Consumer Protection Act 1987.
• Please follow the manufacturer's instructions for machines and electrical equipment.

10. Events outside our control

We're not responsible for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as severe weather, courier or postal disruption, or supplier failure. If this happens, we'll contact you as soon as possible and take steps to minimise the delay. If there's a risk of substantial delay, you can cancel and receive a refund for anything you've paid for but not received.

11. Using our website

• You may use the website for personal, non-commercial purposes. Don't misuse it: no introducing viruses, attempting unauthorised access, scraping, or using it for anything unlawful.
• Content on the website, including text, photos, logos and the Amici Coffee name, belongs to us or our licensors. You may not copy it for commercial use without our permission.
• We try to keep the website accurate and available but can't guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Links to other websites are for information only, and we're not responsible for their content.
• Chat assistant: our website may offer an automated chat or voice assistant. Its answers are for general guidance. If anything it says conflicts with these terms, our policies or your order confirmation, those documents take priority. See our Privacy Policy for how conversations are handled.

12. Reviews

We welcome honest reviews. We don't write, buy or commission fake reviews, and we don't suppress genuine negative reviews. If we offer any incentive for a review, we'll make it clear and the review will be identified as such. We may remove reviews that are unlawful, offensive, unrelated to the product, or that contain personal information.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes in law or in how we operate. The version that applies to your order is the one published when you placed it. For subscriptions, we'll give you notice of any material change, as explained in our Coffee Subscription Policy.

14. Complaints

If you're unhappy, email sales@amicicoffee.co.uk and we'll try to put things right quickly. Free independent advice is available from Citizens Advice (0808 223 1133) or, in Scotland, Advice Direct Scotland.

15. Law and courts

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can bring proceedings in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts, and the mandatory consumer protection laws of your home nation continue to apply.

16. Other terms

• If any part of these terms is found to be invalid, the rest remains in force.
• We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation, and we'll tell you if we do. Your rights won't be reduced.
• Nobody other than you and us has any rights under these terms.
